Flame Retardant Masterbatch is a concentrated additive mixture used to impart flame resistance or slow down the burning rate of plastic products. This masterbatch significantly increases its ignition resistance, causing it to self-extinguish once the source of flame is removed and drastically reducing the spread of fire.

- The core functional addtive is 40-70%Flame Retardant Agents. This agent depends on the base polymer and the required safety standard. They are broadly classified into: Halogen-Based, Phosphorus-Based, Mineral Fillers, Nitrogen-Based etc.
- Carrier resin is the polymer that encapsulates the flame retardant agents and ensures compatibility with the final plastic product. The carrier must be matched to the base polymer being used like Polypropylene (PP) carrier for PP products, a Polyethylene (PE) carrier for PE products).
